Customs changes in the EU and United States make one operational habit especially valuable for MyCNBox users: complete product data before the parcel is sealed. A clear description, material, quantity, value and intended use help carriers select the correct entry workflow and give the buyer a better evidence trail if customs asks a question.
Write a description a customs reviewer can understand
Use a specific product name such as “men’s cotton T-shirt” or “plastic phone case,” not “clothes,” “accessory,” “gift” or a seller nickname. Add the main material and intended use when they affect classification. For mixed parcels, list product categories separately rather than collapsing everything into one line.
Save the tariff basis
The EU’s temporary €3 duty for low-value e-commerce parcels is applied per different category of goods according to tariff classification, not automatically once per parcel. That makes the item mix relevant. Buyers do not need to become customs brokers, but they should preserve the product page and material details that support a classification.
For US-bound goods, the general $800 de minimis exemption was suspended globally in 2025. A low declared value no longer guarantees duty-free entry. Accurate values and documents are therefore more important than trying to fit an old threshold.
Flag regulated goods before purchase
Toys, children’s products, electronics, batteries, cosmetics and other regulated categories may need certificates, testing data or a specialist route. CPSC mandatory eFiling for most regulated imported consumer products took effect on July 8, 2026. If the seller cannot provide the required product or certificate information, changing the shipping line after warehouse arrival may not solve the issue.

Review before the box closes
Remove an item from consolidation if its description is uncertain, it blocks the preferred line or its documents are missing. Shipping a smaller, well-documented parcel is usually easier to resolve than sending a mixed haul with one unsupported regulated product.
